my anime nose drawing should be simple but it isnt

Artist's notes:

I keep trying to sketch anime faces and the nose comes out different every time. sometimes its too flat, sometimes it changes the whole face. I think my form and construction need work. I’m using pencil, any feedback would help

Hey there, you can simplify the nose as sort of a wedge shape for construction. That will help get the general form and proportion as well as orientation in space down. If the wedge is too complicated, you can simplify it even further, starting from just a box shape that doesn't taper like the wedge does. Make sure that when viewing the nose flat on, especially in most anime stylizations, you can always see a little bit of the underplane of the nose. Getting the nose down correctly will also be a thing of repetition and training to achieve the same results over time. Good luck!

the wedge helps but idk if it fixes the changing every time part. maybe keep it to one small shadow shape under the tip plus a tiny mark for the nostril side, same size in every drawing. anime noses read more by placement than form i think

maybe pick one of these three and reuse it every time instead of redrawing it fresh. the middle one reads best, just the bottom bit with a soft edge. the long side line is what flattens it for me, dropping that keeps the face the same
