I personally like more highlights with stronger shadows. And if thats kinda a vibe you want to go for you can brighten and darken stuff. And for like breaking it down you have a really solid base to work off of in shapes and how the light would hit em. You can add more on where the light would be coming from. Adding big blobby shape for where the light hit can also help as you can trim it and make it more accurate to the hair strands. This is an incredible artwork so well done (especially for like just winding down like WOW) also sorry if this wasnt helpful <3

The reference for the character's hairstyle is on the left. I was really confused about how to effectively break down these highlights onto the hair strands + I struggled with breaking down this hair overall. I would appreciate the help. (The rest of the drawing I did to my satisfaction, the flaws like the eyes being way too dark and the color of the lineart not matching the sweater were purposeful because this was just a quick sketch for me to unwind).
