the profile reads nicely. maybe the ponytail feels stuck on because it starts right at the skull line. pushing the hair mass out a bit off the head and letting a few strands fall over the ear could tie it in

I’m trying to sketch an anime girl with a ponytail but the hair always looks like it was stuck on afterwards. I think my construction and volume are off. Using Procreate, any feedback on how i should build the hair?

skin tone

I can't seem to get the skin tone right. I'd like to play around more with the shadows and highlights by mixing in a little more color—not just black and white—but I have no idea how to do that.
