Hey there! I wouldn't say it's that complicated, but it does have its challenges, hehe. What I would recommend is drawing contour lines on the cylinder. It's difficult to visualize the volume of a cylinder when you only have a flat shape. Adding contour lines will help you give it volume and, most importantly, indicate the direction of the cylinder. Take a look at the example on the right. The same shape can have two possible directions, which I indicated using contour lines. :) If you're having trouble figuring out the direction, you can use an arrow to indicate which way you want it to go. Hope this helps!
Thank you for your feedback. Your examples helped me a lot, and I think I'm starting to understand those cylinders better. The overlaps will be a bit harder, but I'll redo this exercise and try to get it right. I really appreciate the time you took to help me.
I tried to apply the contouring lines to the cylinders, but I am struggling to make a cylinder go to the "background in space" instead of being bent in 2d, I am trying to bend where one side is farther away from the other. What do you think I should improve on this grind node?
