Hello o/ I've been doing more early Dungeons & Dragons / OSR style drawings and hoping to get feedback on this one. The idea in my head was that you've finally found the exit from a maze underground, but you're seeing it from the wrong place. A big thing I struggled with was sense of scale. It was meant to feel a bit more like a neverending flat wall and - ironic for its perspective - a neverending pit downwards too. I feel the torches are almost out-of-place with their quality but I'm unsure how to improve them at this scale / distance. I also wasn't sure about getting more complicated with the hatching as a way to indicate the fading of the light with distance and I worry it came out very messy.
If you use a 3 point perspective, make the doorway smaller and add torches along the wall, then it should create the effect of a never ending wall. I hope the sketch makes sense :)
Maybe it's just my untrained eye but it feels a bit 1-point perspective? I do get what you mean though that a change in what I depict overall could help immensely.
