Hello there! Good work! I really like the character design so far I wanted to help a bit with the proportions since Vincent already gave you really solid feedback regarding the lighting. First of all, the head felt slightly disconnected from the torso, mostly because the neck seemed a bit too long, so I shortened it slightly. The character’s right arm was also extremely short; it almost looked as if the forearm was connected directly to the deltoid. On top of that, the perspective felt a bit off, since ideally the arm should point more forward rather than outward to the side. After adjusting the proportions in the upper body, the legs started to feel slightly too short in comparison, so I lengthened them a bit as well. I also included a mannequin construction at the top so you have a clearer reference of the character’s proportions without the clothing. As for the rendering. There’s an artist I really like called “Kai Yi” on ArtStation (from Shanghai, China). I really enjoy the simplicity in some of their renders, especially the way they preserve linework to create stronger contrast and readability in the character. Maybe their work could serve as a useful reference for the rendering style you have in mind. Hope this helps!
