It's beautiful! I love the way you incorporate anatomy in your work. The line thickness variation is contributing a lot of threedimensionality to the piece as well! The only things I'd note would be tiny microscopic details that can make a drawing more "authentically" anime-style (as opposed to western-style illustration incorporating anime quirks): - Bring the hairlines down just a little bit. In the anime aesthetic, a high hairline would make a female character slightly unattractive, since it would read as a sign of age or baldness. If you look at a bunch of anime girls, you'll notice the hairline is usually so low the bangs are covering the eyebrows almost completely (the eyebrows have to be drawn on top), and partially covering the eyes. - Give your characters smaller, subtler, more understated noses. The anime style flatters the female face by making the nose practically non-existent. Often a tiny line or dot or shadow is all that's used to indicate the nose. - Give the hair more volume. Currently the hair on both characters is very close to the skull. If you collect some references of anime girls and try to trace the shape of the skull over the hair, you'd be kind of astonished *just how much hair volume* the style gives characters. If I had to give it a measurement, I'd say the hair volume puffs out maybe two to three inches off of the shape of the skull at least, from the character's perspective. - Make the brows a little thinner; by default, female anime characters have extraordinarily thin eyebrows. They usually barely have any thickness at all. - I would push the smiling character's mouth a little farther back, less directly under the nose and a little bit farther into the cheek area. Placing the mouth directly under the nose in a 3/4 shot makes the character appear "flat-faced". I realize most of these suggestions are a little arbitrary, and subject to japanese pop culture's idea of what a pretty female face looks like. Still, taking those weird little rules into account can make your art style more distinctively anime, if that's what you're aiming for! <3 For the most part though, both your characters are incredibly well-drawn. The clothing looks professional manga quality, the hair is excellent, the eyes are full of life, and both characters have such a distinct personality.
