Hey there! What a great painting! The colors and the overall mood are spot on! The gradient in the sky from the reference, which is actually fog, is an important part of the atmosphere. It creates that sense of mystery because it makes the background shapes less defined than the ones in the foreground. So yeah, I'd definitely recommend adding that hazy effect. :) On top of that, you could darken the foam on the waves a bit. In the reference, the foam is actually darker, while you've painted it a bit brighter. If you compare both images in grayscale, you'll notice that the value range is overall much darker, so having bright waves feels slightly out of place. Also, notice that the foam is a bit blueish. As for the amount of time you've spent on it... It really depends on your goal with this painting. If your goal was to study mood and color, or simply to practice a specific aspect, I'd say the level of finish is already more than enough. Personally, I'd probably keep it a bit rougher haha. So I don't think you need to spend any more time on this piece if you've already captured the essence of the reference. Better try to apply what you learn here into a personal illustration or sketch :) Hope this helps! :) | Artwod Feedback
