Well done on your initial construction! The planes of the face can be super difficult. I had some difficulty figuring out where your light source was, since almost all the hair was illuminated but a lot of the face wasn't. I really focused on the simple planes of the face in correlation to the light source, to illustrate a strong foundation, while also trying to give an example of at least one way to render in a more painterly way. I would recommend, studying the planes of the face. Learn the hard and soft edges of drawing objects. Take a look at an Asaro Head, try adding those planes onto other existing faces you've drawn. ¨ Great work, keep going!
the face planes read a lot clearer in the paintover, maybe keep the hair light but push one darker shape across the cheek and neck so the light source stays readable
idk if the cheek shadow has to go darker, maybe dim the hair on the shadow side a bit so the face and hair feel lit by the same lamp
