I used as a photo reference my little son on a playground. I played with composition, increased contrast where he is to make the viewer focus on him - tried my best at value control. But I seem not the vibrancy and livelyness in that painting that I wanted to have. The ship seems to be either only yellowish brown or yellow and its values also seem off - maybe too bright. All in all I think the painting has problems with readability and vibrancy/ color diversity.
