What inspired this work?
This is a book cover-type piece I did for my dnd character Rose who's leaving her home at the circus to uncover the mysteries of her past. The flower figure is her "echo" which she can call onto from different timelines and possibilities, it's withering as that particular path has been sealed and it's no longer an option to go back.
What are you trying to achieve with your art?
I want to make big pieces that capture moments of story and emotion or show off the characters traits in one composition. Things like book covers or splash arts.
Where do you feel stuck?
My main issues other than the basics are I always feel my images look way too flat even when there's a lot of distance to them. I also think my finish looks rough and messy even if I'm spending way more time on it than other people do with way better effect.
What skills, style, or goals are you working towards?
I'm working on the beggining part of the drawing process, I started doing greyscale before color but even though greyscale looks great I can never quite get the colors to quite what I want as I work with very saturated palettes. I'm also working on introducing stronger lights and shadows
