Hey there! First of all, you need to define what kind of materials you're dealing with, such as the clothing, the boots, and so on, and gather references so you can paint them more accurately instead of relying on imagination. For this paintover, I only focused on separating two materials: the clothing and the cardboard. For the clothing, I used a brush without any texture, simply to define the folds. For the cardboard, however, I used a textured brush to better capture the surface quality of the material. In cases like this, you can even use a bit of photobashing to help achieve more convincing textures. :) The key is to always observe how different materials behave. I wanted to make the cardboard box feel more realistic by showing it bending and crumpling under the person's weight. Otherwise, it would feel a bit odd to have a perfectly intact cardboard box supporting someone without showing any signs of compression. Hope this helps! | Artwod Feedback
