I really like the pose! It has a lot of character. So I think the biggest thing that is making your piece feel lacking is your values. Remember that value changes indicate plane changes! So you have to place them deliberately. Harsh value transitions means harsh plane transitions. Painting well needs a good understanding of the form you're painting for that reason. You need to know when to soften the edge of a plane and harden the edge of a plane. I think this is most noticeable on the legs. You have a lot of shifting values going down the leg even though we know the leg is very smooth, right? Having a good understanding of anatomy can help you know where plane transitions should happen and therefore where the values will also change. Be deliberate! Make sure each decision is made with intention and a goal in mind. I hope this helps!
