You were almost there! Make sure to carefully follow the line of orientation and the structure of the face. It becomes especially tricky when placing the nose. The main points that need to be aligned are the upper lip’s central crease (the philtrum) and the center of the chin. Then, the nose should be added as if it were resting on this facial plane.
