Hey there! The proportions of the mermaid aren’t quite working yet. The head doesn’t feel properly connected to the neck. In fact, you can see that the jaw is significantly wider than the neck itself, which makes the connection feel a bit unnatural. The torso is also almost nonexistent because it’s too short. I’d recommend lengthening it a bit to give the character a more believable structure. On top of that, you’re not really following the form of the mermaid’s tail. Right now, it feels quite flat because of the way the contours are drawn; there’s very little form overlap to suggest volume. The textures also appear flat because they aren’t wrapping around the rounded, organic forms of the tail. Whenever you’re drawing organic forms like these, I’d recommend adding contour lines. They help reinforce the forms' volume and make it much easier to keep that volume in mind when adding textures, shading, or details later on. I’d also avoid drawing wave patterns at the top of the image. They don’t really match the scene's perspective. If you do that, you end up mixing two different viewpoints: one where we’re looking from underwater, and another where we can somehow see what’s happening above the water surface. Hope this helps!
