Hey! I don't see anything wrong with the colors. :) They work really well as base colors. There are two things I would recommend. First, work on defining your illustration a bit more: cleaner line art, better definition of forms, especially in the hair, and so on. Second, you don't necessarily need to paint light and shadows, but you can use a bit more color variation to prevent the illustration from looking a little flat. Hope this helps!
