Hi! I like your artstyle. If I have to design a summer themed character, I’d design it like this. Colors make up a difference. * Here I used the main primary color ( orange ) with a complimentary color ( blue ) and a secondary color ( yellow ) for the palette. There’s honestly many color combinations to choose, but this is my first-to-go! I don’t know much about accessories, but I’d add some that relate to the summer theme like bracelets, shells, flowers etc. Hope this helps! ^^
