the process help separate light and shadow. it keeps the values controlled and makes sure that the values in the light are always lighter than the values in the shadow. then it's just adding in the other parts. halftones are in the light. They show the turning of the form moving away from the light and into the shadow.

Hello, I'm looking for feedback on these value studies. I'm looking for how I can make these look more believable, as it feels like I'm just putting down outlines and then colouring them in. I also feel like I dont know how to transition between halftones and shadow. Any type of feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
