Hi! I think the way you did the light scatter actually fits your style quite well, but generally I would make it a little bit less saturated in colour, we often need much less than we think! Secondly, I made sure the lighting was consistent, it shines on the character from the right top side, so I drew in some of the lines in that angle, and painted the body accordingly. The difference between when to use soft and hard edges can be a tough one to learn, but I'll try and explain some of it with this image. See how I changed the hair to make it feel more 3D? That's because the hair is a round element, so the form shadow it has, will be a soft gradient. However the shadow underneath her head onto the torso is a hard edge because it is a cast shadow created by a beam of direct light.
