I’m not sure exactly what style you’re rooting for so I went more semi-realistic for the example paint-over, but I think if you struggle with hair then look on studying form structure. In the paint-over I added more form to both the hair and the face to give you an example of how form could help you with portraits. To study form, go over values (greyscale studies), planes (Asaro head and simple shapes, lighting) and face structure. The colors you picked here are great and you know the facial features well, it’s just about adding more form here and it’ll upgrade your skill a ton

I keep feeling like there are some things off with this one but it’s hard to tell what they are. I think a big part of it is the hair, since that’s something I struggle with 😭

Okay so as I put, remember that there is a muscle between the neck and shoulder, don't hesitate to make the shadows darker and more stark. What I mean by that is that don't over blend shadows that shouldn't be blended otherwise we loose contrast. Most of the rest is said on the canvas. :}

I already liked cour drawing so I didn't really wanted to Change much. The hair still feels kinda off but I think its a little better. I tryed to make it a little messy like you did but I don't know if I made it really better. I added more shadows over all to make it look less flat. I also shaded the shirt more and made the lines thinner. I hope my english is not to broken.
And I moved the eyes a little lower

I suggest not blending the shadows on the neck and etc. It makes work dirtier and less dity/understandable. Perhaps same lineart on all pieces. Ur artwork has its own lines on every side which isn't very good thing!
