Man this one is super hard for me to grasp. First really challenging subject I've come across. Any have some feedback for me on this?
You have the concept down and I think you are just missing one more contour line. I think that missing contour is what is throwing off what your mind sees. Add the corners contour kind of finishes the shape. The reference kind of hides this with that gold trim but it’s just a simple round box like you have done. Just finish off the rounded corners. Hope this helps.
Ok I’m going to go draw this a few more times now.
You just forgot to draw the diagonals. If you keep the bottom box square then the diagonals will define the shape. (in green) If you would round them too (not in the reference), then you have to trace the rounding on the horizontal and think at which point the shape will change. (in blue). Hope it helps
