what was the reference you were using? Since this was in the Anime section, I'm assuming you're trying to go for a stylized anime approach. I think there's a strange mix happening between realism and anime which makes it look a little uncanny. Your head feels big because the body is following closer to realistic proportions. I would have some anime reference beside so that you can try to match the style. spend more time on the underdrawing to try and solve some of these issues. It'll also be good to post the underdrawings as well so we can see the construction phase. I think you have the right idea for a lot of the 3D structures. It's the connections and joints that aren't really working. I would spend more time on the head and torso proportions and getting them locked in and accurate before moving onto the rest of the body.
yeah, matching the anime reference makes sense here. maybe block the ribcage and pelvis as two simple boxes first, then fit the head onto that so the pose keeps its anime shape without losing the 3D turn
maybe keep the head and ribcage as two simple shapes first, then compare their tilt to an anime reference before adding the limbs so the body keeps the same proportion
maybe keep the anime reference beside you and block the head and torso as simple shapes first, then check the head size against the body before adding the limbs
maybe use a quick line of action with simple ribcage and pelvis boxes first, then check the head width against them before adding details. that might make the 3D structure feel more solid.
idk if going full anime is the first fix, maybe shrink the head a little and clarify the shoulder and hip joints so the body keeps some of that solid feel without reading uncanny
idk if the style match needs to come first, maybe keep the anime reference beside you and do one small pass with just the ribcage and pelvis boxes, then check the head size before the joints so the 3D turn stays clear
idk if matching anime refs harder is the only path, maybe keep the body forms you already blocked in and just shrink the head a bit so the proportions feel less mixed without losing the pose
idk if the style mix is the whole issue, maybe shorten the torso a bit and sit the hips higher so the head feels less huge while you keep the 3d forms you already have
idk if the mix is the main issue, maybe push the anime proportions on the torso and head first so the big shapes feel stylized, then the more realistic bits can sit on top without fighting
yeah the big head jumps out, maybe shrink it a bit and block the torso as one simple mass first so the joints sit on a clearer body
