Amazing drawing ! I'm far from an expert an this is just my personal take on it. I would darken the background to highlight the dragon. I would then use the orange emitted by the dragon has a light source to suggest the environment. Hopes it helps.

skin tone

I can't seem to get the skin tone right. I'd like to play around more with the shadows and highlights by mixing in a little more color—not just black and white—but I have no idea how to do that.
