I always like looking at a chinese dragon inspired drawing. These aren´t easy to do, so kuddo´s to you for doing them twice. The main reason that it looks flat is because of the scales are constructed on the dragon. Their in a straight line instead of a curvature. There are some other issues like anatomy and colour theory aswell, but these are secondary to the controle of volumes and the manipulation of shapes in general.

Coloring feels flat and uninteresting.
