The colors are in fact pretty good! Good job! Now, I've only painted over the first 2 two, to showcase that there's a lot more going on than just the 2 color values. I've also shaded a ball as a guide, to simply imply the forms I'm thinking of while adding in those variations of shadow and light. Then I also flipped the side that's in shadow on that second head, to really give a feel of those 3D shapes that are happening, it also feels more interesting and you learn a lot more about the form. But the most important thing I did was trying to breathe some life into the heads, by showing how the light enters the skin and bounces all around underneath and is showcased on that terminator line line dividing light and shadow. I think I’ve captured the overall feel of each time of day, but I’m not sure the colors are convincing, especially in the shadows. I know the midday version should have strong light–shadow contrast because it’s a clear, sunny day, but the colors still don’t feel right, and I’m not sure what to adjust. I’d appreciate feedback on the lighting and shadow colors, and I’m also open to any suggestions for the other heads.
