Hi, here's some suggestions! Your rendering as it was wasn't bad at all! I'm guessing it just wasn't as sharpened as you may have been hoping for, so I did a bit of my own rendering that you are more than welcome to copy! I think a lot of it comes down to studying lighting and personal coloring practices. As an example, I roughly drew out how I render semi-realistic faces. I'm not the best teacher, lol, but I hope this helps in some way! ^-^

i think my rendering is so off and not what i want at all. it feels too heavy in some parts and stop light in others. something is just missing and idk what :(

Frieren sketch

Hi guys! This is my first time posting. This is a sketch of Frieren that's still a work in progress. I feel like a few things are off but I can't really tell. It could be the flow of the hair or something in the face? I feel like there isn't a real focal point and my eyes get lost while looking for long. Any general tips are greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

Really late for the July challenge but I thought I’d give it a try after practicing realism for a bit/long while (at the urging of a friend who studied animation). It has been an on and off practice with long breaks in-between because of COVID and then switching jobs up until this year I decided that I was going to draw again.

Unexpected visitor

I want the person on the left to exhibit fear. Mouth is giving me a hard time. other side of the face finally feels right but I expect it could be "shallower?". The rest of the perspective feels right I am just double checking my perspective and form before I proceed.
