Hello there! Good work so far! I really like the technique you’re using. One thing I’ve noticed is that some artists reinforce their shadows using soft value passes underneath the hatching, which helps create stronger contrast and makes the hatching read much more clearly. In my case, I used slightly stronger shadow values to push the contrast a bit more and help the character and the creature stand out better, since they were a bit difficult to read before. For lighting situations like this, you usually need darker shadow values to create a clearer separation between light and shadow, which in turn improves the readability of your focal point.
