Hey! To improve your shading, I’d recommend two things: - Do observational painting. That means using photos, either your own or from the internet, and studying the direction of the light, and therefore the shape of the shadows. For now, try thinking in just two values so you can clearly separate light from shadow. You can move on to three-value studies later, but starting with two is ideal. - If you want to focus on portraits, look up different portrait lighting setups on Google and apply the same approach I mentioned before to your drawings. This will make your studies much more interesting :) Notice how, with just two values, you can already achieve some compelling lighting setups.
