Hey there! Cool design here! :D So... Short answer: Yes, it is too much purple. Long answer: Work with a color palette; whether it’s analogous, complementary, or triadic, but avoid choosing too many colors for a single character. In this case, I went with a triadic palette and organized it using the Big, Medium, Small principle: Big: Main color; purple for the character Medium: Secondary elements; like the cape and the flame scarf (are those flames?) Small: Tertiary elements; such as the orb, the feather on the head, and the arrow on the abdomen This approach gives you much better control and organization over your colors. Keep color harmony while painting textures by introducing new colors through blends of your original primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, along with grayscale values. Avoid using colors that are too far from your base palette to maintain harmony. Also, maintain good control between saturated and desaturated colors, try not to have everything fully saturated. And speaking of values, your color choices should always maintain readability. In other words, your forms and silhouettes should remain clear at all times. For example, if you convert your piece to grayscale, you’ll notice that the character’s silhouette is barely distinguishable because the cape and scarf share very similar values. In comparison, in my version, the character stands out clearly from the cape and scarf. Hope this helps! | Artwod Feedback
