I love this character design! The nose is so nice. So what you have to keep in mind whenever you draw anything is perspective! I have a lot of lessons on perspective that you can see on my profile if you're interested, but to put it simply, make sure your lines converge on the same vanishing points somewhere on the horizon line. For the face we want to make sure that all the symmetrical features of the face and body line up and point in the direction of the same vanishing point. The loomis method for drawing faces can make this confusing because it makes things harder to line things up with curved lines. I recommend using a box instead! Start by drawing a box a squishing it on the sides so the front is narrower than the sides. Then you break the box down into thirds. The third marks line up with the brow, nose, and chin. Roughly halfway between the nose and chin is where the mouth goes and a little above halfway between the eyebrows and nose is where the eyes go. The eyes should be an eye width apart from each other. The inner corners of the eyes also almost line up perfectly with the nostrils and corners of the mouth. These proportions become easy once you practice them! Once you become comfortable with that then you can alter them in the future. I hope this helps!
Waho a lot of change ! Thanks for all the explanation, I saved them for later, I didn’t think of drawing it in perspective, but you’re right I thought in the loomi things teach here and boxes seems easier, I just don’t understand how jaw line works! Thanks for all the returns I should make a 2nd sketch soon !
I'm glad you found it helpful! A box can take practice getting used to. Make sure you practice drawing boxes in different angles and perspectives! The jaw lines up on the lower third (1/3) of the face. The same as the ear and the nose. The ear and jaw also land halfway between the front of the head and the back of the head. Looking forward to your next submission.
Thanks again, that’s why I’ve save your over paint : I got all the references you draw 😁
such good feedback!
