I wanted to start with saying I love how textured this piece is! I kind of cant help staring at it. I am pretty new to painting and color theory but I think the only issue with getting across the "Night Time" feeling is the color temperature of your source light. Night time comes off as more cool / blue than the warm tones you have on the light side of your face. Just my two cents. Very nice work!

I tried painting a portrait in a night scene but it just looks dark, not night time. Also, tried using the color zones of the face, I think i overdid it.

Attempted a character sheet

Tried making a character sheet but I can't seem to keep consistency between the faces angles. Are there landmarks on the face that make it possible to keep consistency when moving the head?
