Hi there! Colour use is a huge topic, so I totally get that you are struggling with it. Honestly it all comes down to understanding light. Identify where the shadows/lights are depending on the lightsource, (studying Asaro heads would really help in this case!) and then you make your colours darker and lighter based on that. Painting in colour/lighting on 3D volumes is not easy, but painting it on something as complex as a portrait is really tough, so if you struggle with portraits, try some easier 3D forms first to get the hang of it and you can apply that knowledge later. Second is learning about edges. Right now, see all of your paints have a pretty soft blurry edge? Don't be afraid to introduce some sharper corners in there from time to time, or experiment with different brushes! Lastly I changed the proportions of the face a little bit (but as I don't have the original reference photo, it might look a bit different from what you intended!). Hope this helps and keep up the good work!! c: | Artwod Feedback
