Hey! Nice work here! You already have a good foundation and a solid understanding of how to create volume using lines. However, for a better result, you could try drawing more in the direction of the form itself. For example, on a flat plane, it’s usually better to use vertical or horizontal lines rather than purely diagonal ones. From what I’ve seen, diagonal or curved lines tend to work best during plane transitions, helping create a smoother shift between surfaces. For instance, on the cheek: Instead of using diagonal lines as the base, you could use vertical lines that follow the direction of the plane itself. You can then reinforce the shadow with crosshatching or simply by adding more lines. You could apply the same idea to the forehead. On the side planes, vertical lines combined with crosshatching could work well, while on the front plane, you could use more horizontal lines. Check out Asaro's head, it's quite helpful for understanding the planes of the head. Hope this helps! | Artwod Feedback
