Hello there! I’m not entirely sure what your goal was with studying the Asaro head here. One important thing to keep in mind is that the Asaro head is mainly used to understand the planes of the head, so you can shade the face more effectively. You can also use it directly as a painting reference. However, if your goal is to draw more realistically, I’d strongly recommend first studying the overall structure of the head. The Loomis head is extremely helpful for this, since it allows you to construct the head from different angles. On top of that, studying facial features, eyes, nose, mouth, etc., is another key step. And not just learning how to draw them, but understanding their simple or organic forms. This will give you a much stronger foundation and even allow you to manipulate those forms more confidently. If you have the chance, I’d recommend taking a portrait roadmap like the ones on Artwod. It can really help you make that jump toward more realistic portraits. Hope this helps! | Artwod Feedback
