Hey! You already have a solid base, which is great! Overall, I’d recommend focusing more on form manipulation and perspective. You mentioned George Bridgman, and beyond his anatomical knowledge, what really defines his work is how he manipulates forms. That’s why his drawings feel so unique and structured. Studying the human figure isn’t really about memorizing muscles; that’s maybe 20% of it. The other 80% comes from understanding structure and form. This applies whether you’re focusing on portraits or the full body. Proportions are also important, of course. So again, I’d strongly suggest going back to fundamentals: form and structure. Start by constructing the body using simple forms, and gradually introduce more complexity—until you’re able to combine a mannequin with simplified muscle forms.
