Drawing them this small also makes the left bicep feel overly stretched (it looks like you placed a sphere and then extended another form from it, which elongates the bicep unnaturally). There’s a simple guideline I like to keep in mind: the rule of thirds. This means dividing the upper body into three equal parts, from the top of the head down to the pelvis. It’s a helpful way to keep proportions in check. If you’re working in perspective, you can start by drawing a box, divide it in half (thinking of the upper body and legs as roughly equal), and then split the upper section into three parts.
