These are solid attempts—you’re already thinking about the center of the planes, which is a good sign you’re heading in the right direction. Ellipses can be tricky when you’re starting out, so here are a few tips that might help: 1. Try to always consider the minor axis—it’ll help you spot any distortions in your ellipse. 2. Do some quick freehand ellipse warm-ups. This helps reduce those “hairy” or scratchy lines over time. 3.It might feel a bit tedious, but try setting up a horizon line and vanishing points, then place your planes in perspective before drawing the ellipse. As you do this more, you’ll start noticing the subtle ways ellipses change in perspective. Hope this helps! PS: You can read through the first chapter of How to draw by scott robertson, this book can be daunting at first so if you want just the first chapter will help you.
