These are great sketches with lots of potential! If you start with exaggerating the hair, clothes and features, it will definitely help make your sketches stand out and i'd highly recommend experimenting with larger shapes. the best way to come up with more interesting shapes as well is to think more primitive, think about sharpness, roundness and go even further into thinking of shapes being different materials, like a sphere being soft and squishy and how would gravity affect that, or how stiff is the clothing material, what is it made of, that helps me a lot personally in coming up with ideas, and stronger shape language!
