Hey! The character idea itself isn’t bad, and a neutral perspective to showcase the design is actually a good choice (in my opinion). The issue isn’t exactly that it feels “stiff,” but rather that the pose doesn’t feel fully believable for the situation. In your drawing, it looks like the weight is resting entirely on the back, with the spine bending forward. But in reality, the load wouldn’t sit that way, it ends up feeling a bit unconvincing. Ideally, the back should curve slightly backward, forming a long “C” shape, while the front of the torso compresses. It might sound a bit abstract, but try acting out the pose yourself while imagining you’re carrying something heavy; you’ll feel how the body naturally adjusts. The arm holding the staff shouldn’t point outward, it would make more sense to angle it forward. You could also make the bottom of the staff a bit wider. If it ended in a sharp point, it wouldn’t provide stable support, it would just slip. Another (more classic, but believable) option is to have both arms holding the staff for better support. For the legs, just make sure they align properly with the perspective. Hope some of this helps! | Artwod Feedback
