I'll try to give you a few pointers for the glowing gauntlet : - make sure to separate your light sources properly (light 1 / shadow / light 2 ), otherwise it gets confusing for you and unclear for the viewer - contrast is key for how shiny or glowy something is. Something like the eyeball will appear that much more bright if its surrounded by darker tones - in general, spend a bit more time figuring out where your light comes from and then what is in shadow and what is in light. Plan it ahead if you wish to have something like a glowing arm and use references ! Good job so far !

I mainly wanted to ask for advice on how to make the eyes on the gauntlet glow. I wanted to give it a senso of magic and energy but i dont know, its lacking in some way. Anything else is wellcome too! Thanks a lot.

Hi! Really cool work, just 2 quick notes, on the gauntlet I think 1 more fingernail do better becouse the thumb is a bit confusing (at least for me), and the other is that I think a mohawk would gonreally well with the spikey theme, but its more a question of personal taste than something to modify if you like him this way. Anyway its a sick design, I really like how dynamic you made his clothes. For the question about glowing eyes, what I usually do is take a soft brush set opacity to around 30% than without clipping it to any layer, draw some aura around it, set it to either “add” “screen” “color dodge” or “hard light” layermode, but check wich works best for you from all of them. If you feel the edge got too sharp u can always blur it a little. For some spice put some flying pores with some little dots to indicate air and light. I hope i could help a little, and again pretty cool design🙂

I am struggling with capturing his face from my refrence, I made a mistake with choosing my reference a bit, I chose the refrence pose where the face wasn't fully visible and used other refrence for his face so I had to adjust the face angle and how he is looking at the viewer which led to facial structure changes, I can't add my reference in this site because it doesn't support more images. I want you to help me with how do I make look more like Jay.

About linework in general

I finished it by adding this little walrus imp thing. I believe this is currently the absolute limit of my abilities. If there is anything to improve in this i am currently blind to it. I see this as a problem, since if i do not recognize my mistakes i cannot improve further, therefore if anyone can poke holes in this it would be deeply appreciated. Or maybe i should just start learning values already, since linework is kinda the only thing i've ever done.
