Hey there! The illustration looks good so far! I feel like the anime style is already there, but you might just need to adjust a few things. First, I would suggest not cropping the hand that’s holding the weapon. Instead, you could reduce the size of the character a bit to give that hand more space. In my opinion, it might also look better if the hand that says “DEATH” were slightly rotated instead of drawing it completely differently. Regarding the painting. The hat casts a shadow over the eyes, so it would be interesting to see the shape of that shadow in that area. Since there are two light sources, ideally one side of the face would be affected by the natural light while the other side would be affected by the blue light (notice that I only painted the plane facing the light, while leaving part of the cheek in its natural color to add a bit of volume). You could use a Soft Light layer with a blue color to paint over that area to achieve the color blending between the skin and the light. Then, on another layer, you can define the details. Also think about which areas are affected by the blue light, for example, the fingers of the other hand, parts of the sword, etc. Hope this helps!
