It’s looking really pretty. I like the colors you picked. It’s okay to use all the glitter, effects, and so on, but you want to use them in a controlled way. In an artwork you usually want some areas where people’s eyes can kind of rest. Empty, simple, or predictable areas can serve some functions. They can help viewers feel less overwhelmed feeling like they need to look at every inch of an artwork. They can also help you in creating a focal point by not distracting from it. Speaking of which, I’d say having a clear focal point/focal points would help your artwork. You usually want one (or a couple) spots that you mostly want people to be looking at, and the rest of the artwork should be supporting that focal point and helping direct your focus to there. You can have kind of tiered focuses, where you want someone to look at one place first, and then on to the next place next, etc., but you want to mostly be supporting your main focus. You can create a focal point with detail, contrast, and so on. In my version, I just used value to try to put more focus on her face. Specifically, I tried to make the background darker so her head would show up more against it, and added some contrast on the face. An exercise I’d recommend is I’d turn your artwork to black and white, blur your eyes, and see where your eyes are drawn to. If there isn’t any obvious focal point, I would adjust your values to create one. A couple specific ways you could make it a bit less busy. You don’t need the glitter on the dress to be equally glittery everywhere. Just a bit of texture can imply that there’s more (the bright white highlights all over could especially be toned down). And the motion blur/perspective circles are a bit much. Your artwork is coming along, I really like the blue you have in the branches. Your question to solve now is just where do I want people to be looking. | Artwod Feedback
