design wise she reads clear, the shy crybaby part maybe less so. both poses are kinda confident with the peace sign. one version with hands pulled in closer, shoulders up a bit, would sell that side. also the warm/cool split is strongest on the first one, the second leans mostly cool

I’ve been experimenting with this design as doodles on paper as well, but I thought it would be better to show the full colored og version. She’s supposed to be a demon who’s job is to murder humans, but she’s trying really hard to improve and prove to others that she’s a much better person now (to no avail). She’s a real big crybaby, a little shy, and annoyingly approval seeking. In this story cool tones represent heaven and warm tones represent hell. IDC about anatomy and stuff, just design.

skin tone

I can't seem to get the skin tone right. I'd like to play around more with the shadows and highlights by mixing in a little more color—not just black and white—but I have no idea how to do that.
