Hi there! I quickly sketched something on top of your drawing, it was definitely a challenging pose! I think the fingers were slightly too short compared to the palm. The overlap and foreshortening in this pose makes that something really difficult to do, so what helps me out a lot is drawing in those little contour lines everywhere to keep track of how the volumes are changing direction and overlapping with itself. beginner anime hand drawing, i really need help

I’ve been trying to sketch anime characters with their hands visible instead of hiding them behind the body. fingers always look stiff and the palm proportions are weird. I’m struggling with anatomy and construction. using pencil right now, what should i practice?

idk if more knuckle detail helps yet, maybe block the palm as a simple wedge and the fingers as three long boxes first so the gesture reads before you refine
