Have you tried drawing the Asaro head in different angles and perspectives? I find this can help with understanding the form better. In my draw-over, I’ve softened the cheek and kept the focus on the highlighted area. I’ve also pushed the angle a bit more which I think helps with building the perspective. Hopefully that helps, even a little bit! Really like this design btw!

Late post, fell asleep after got back from vacation. I drew these three from references to sharpen my visual library. Probably as much as i needed before hopping into drawing from imagination. To me, there's a lot room for improvements, because these drawing still not great. If you have any advices, truly i'd be grateful to hear it. Ignore the top left, its from yesterday :)
