Hey there! Well done so far! I'd say that the best way to group your shadows is to simplify them into simple graphic shapes. It can be tricky to study something when the brushwork is more evident. However, if we turn the illustration in values and reduce the levels, you can clearly see the value grouping, ignoring the brushwork. So, again, think about it in simple shapes and from there, start to sculpt the painting by adding bounce light, ambient occlusion, soft edges, etc. Ignore the complexity at the beginning.
