I can see that you have a solid foundation when it comes to drawing the human figure, which is great! I would recommend focusing a bit more on perspective and composition. The perspective in your illustration feels a bit off because of the boat or platform the character is standing on (also, the feet are pointing inward), and the waves in the background, along with the rest of the elements, feel a bit odd. First of all, always keep in mind where your horizon line and vanishing point are. This is crucial for achieving more cohesive drawings. Now, regarding composition, since the character is placed right in the middle, I would suggest using the background elements in a more asymmetrical way to break the symmetry created by the character. The ships in the background (I assume they are ships) have been drawn smaller and in different sizes. I also drew the waves overlapping each other to add a bit more depth. You could exaggerate the waves a little more, but I would recommend avoiding making them too large so they don’t compete with the character. On the other hand, regarding lighting and atmosphere: As a general rule, try to group and separate your values. If you look at your image in grayscale, you’ll notice that the values of the background and the character are quite similar, which reduces the contrast in the image. A quick adjustment I made was lightening the values of the background (the farther an object is from the camera, the lighter it tends to appear) and darkening the character. This creates a clearer separation between the two planes and improves the overall readability of the image. I hope this helps!
