Hey! I love the illustration! Your rendering is on point! The issue is that the pose or the character’s attitude doesn’t really convey that sense of disorganization you’re trying to communicate—indifference, carelessness, etc. The gaze feels confident, which doesn’t quite match someone disorganized, especially with the way he’s holding the phone and the cigarette pack. Instead, I would exaggerate the pose more and have this person searching for a lighter, keys, or some other object in the pocket on the same side where he’s holding the phone. At least to me, that would feel more interesting. The pose can definitely be pushed further (you can look at animation examples and see how much they exaggerate gesture). Even imitating this pose myself made me feel overwhelmed by the awkwardness of holding the phone that way while trying to do other things. Hope this helps!
