Hey! Cool design! However, there are some aspects you need to pay more attention to. First and foremost, always keep the values in mind. It looked flat before because of the lack of shadows and contrast. For example, the hand was blending with the cape because both had the same high value, it was hard to see the hand at the frist sight. The neck should be shaded because the head is blocking the light (due to its side). Generally speaking, keep in mind that your character is an "egg", so that you can have in mind what areas would be more exposed to the light and what parts will not. Then you can start to think about each part individually, once you have the general idea. I think the coat would be better open at the bottom to add more dynamism. And it's really cool you did it from the imagination, but to add more credibility, look for some reference to know more about how the movement looks to the drapery and therefore, draw/paint better folds. I didn't get what you wanted to do on the shoulders. Are they shoulder pads? Is it part of the coat? Would be cool draw some shoulder pads with a different material. Hope this helps!
