Hello. The painting is lacking a proper "starting point". The focal point where the viewer should look first. The face of the statue is set up to be the focal point but the hole in the ceiling and the overall bright values around it don't give it enough contrast to properly stand out. To solve this i would take out the hole entirely or if it is important for your story i would make it much darker to avoid having a bright spot near the focal point that leads the viewer nowhere. With this change now the viewer will look at the face of the statue first due to the bright and saturated colors, then it should follow the left arm that leads the eye to the 2 characters. I also added the other hand so the eye will circle back to the statue. Creating a cirular path for the viewer. Last thing regarding the composition, the illustration is slighlty off center to the right. There is more empty space on the left and that breaks the composition a little.
